Newly built and opened December 2008, Chalets @ Terraced Gardens are three self-contained air conditioned studio chalets in a garden setting, high on the hill with views of the mountains and the Riwaka Valley and Tasman Bay. Sit on your own deck, gaze across the valley to the mountains or down to the sea and enjoy all the wonders that nature has to offer. Facing the sun, all chalets are designed to be cosy by night being fully insulated with double glazing, thermal backed curtains and electric blankets. By day opening the windows will catch fresh breezes and the ceiling fan provides a cooling breeze. Each chalet contains: a Queen-sized bed with electric blanket, ensuite, fridge, kitchenette with microwave, frying pan, tea and coffee making facilities and toaster, Digital, Freeview, 32 inch LCD TV for perfect reception, double sofa bed which could accommodate two extra persons, table and chairs, ceiling fan, heater. All linen, crockery and utensils and essentials supplied. An adjacent BBQ area with two gas BBQ's and large BBQ table is for the use of all guests. Free Guest Laundry. One chalet has a ramp for access and facilities suitable for disabled use. Although chalets are non-smoking, there is a table and chairs on each private deck for smoking outside. Directions to get here:- From Nelson take coastal highway through Mapua and Tasman to Motueka (30 mins approx.). Proceed through Motueka and Riwaka along highway. You will see Riwaka Hotel on the left (approx 10 mins). Do not round the next bend, take the road directly ahead (Dehra Doon Rd.) and proceed 1.3 km till reaching our SUNFLOWER "Terraced Gardens" sign.
