The lodge is located in the Merced River Canyon just 8 miles from Yosemite National Park's popular west gate. The lodge grounds offer a unique setting for relaxing walks amid a collection of hand carved bears. Guests can spend the day discovering Yosemite National Park, skiing at Badger Pass Ski Area, or visiting the California Mining and Mineral Museum in nearby Mariposa.

Guests can enjoy a pleasant stay in one of the 211 rooms. A lobby and a reception are available to travellers. Services and facilities at the hotel include a safe, a restaurant, a dining area, a café, a bar, a laundry service and a conference room. Internet access (for a fee) is available to guests in the public areas. Various shops are available, including a souvenir shop. Those arriving in their own vehicles can leave them in the car park of the hotel. A bicycle hire service gives guests the opportunity to explore the surrounding area independently.
