A destination for all seasons Located in the center of Romania, in the county of Sibiu, just 35 km from Sibiu, Paltinis is the oldest mountain resort in Romania, founded by the Carpathian Transylvania Society in 1894. It is also the highest altitude resort in Romania, at 1442 m. Founded at the end of the 19th century, in the middle of a coniferous forest, on the northeastern slope of the Cindrel Mountains, Paltinis is a very pleasant place to spend vacations and a special source of health, thanks to the extremely clean alpine air, strongly ozoneized, a true gold mine for the health of city dwellers threatened by the toxins of civilization and everyday stress. The gentle peaks and wide plateaus of the Cindrel Massif are very suitable for cross-country skiing. During the winter, Paltinis is an excellent place for winter sports. Abundant snowfalls (from November to April) turn many of the surrounding slopes into veritable ski or sledding runs. Known as a resort for winter sports, Paltinis has specially designed slopes, from the most accessible for those who are just starting to understand the secrets of this sport to those with a high degree of difficulty favored by experienced skiers. Also near our hotel is the Platoș Arena, a ski resort with slopes equipped with night lighting and ski lifts. Here you can also enjoy a series of activities for all ages and in all seasons. At the Oncești slope, there are ski lifts, chairlifts (stretching over a distance of 1025m and having a height difference of 241 m), and a night lighting installation. In the summer season, Paltinis offers multiple possibilities for recreation and tourist routes, which, through the beauty of the surrounding landscape, the pure air of the coniferous forests, create an atmosphere of peace and relaxation.
